Thanks Ode for the translation…

For me, no matter what… this is still the best drama I watch recently

So no need to give up, right?

————————————————————————————

3.4%, Playful Kiss, the reason why it’s still early to give up yet

MBC Wed-Thurs drama Playful Kiss recorded ratings of 3.4% (09 Sept, #4). This was lower by 0.1% than #3 broadcasted on 8 September with 3.5%. A few of the broadcasting personnel expressed their thoughts on Playful Kiss who is facing the worst situation, “It isn’t impossible yet that the drama will not be revived”.

However, it is still too early to think about giving up. Since only 4 episodes have been aired so far, there are many guesses throughout here and there that there will be possibility of a rise in ratings soon.

Solid storyline… Kim Hyun Joong – Jung So Min Loveline Anticipation UP

The first possibility would be that Baek Seungjo (Kim Hyunjoong) and Oh Hani (Jung Somin)’s loveline is beginning to slowly develop itself. Oh Hani has been living in shame since sending her self-penned love letter to Baek Seungjo. Baek Seungjo whom, disregards Oh Hani in every single circumstance, has begun to slowly open his heart up to Oh Hani, as was seen in the episode aired on 9 September.

Baek Seungjo who has been so arrogant throughout is slowly beginning to change. Because of that, Baek Seungjo and Oh Hani’s love story that will soon spread its wings is grabbing the attention of audiences.

-next paragraph omit, introduction of drama-

Drama Boys over Flowers had similarly faced the same situation whereby it was facing a tough battle in the beginning against MBC drama ‘East of Eden’, yet in the end it achieved huge success with its increasing ratings.

The hardwork of the actors.. Audiences Are Aware

The 2nd possibility is because the good acting by the young actors and the vetarans. In particular veterans Jung Hyeyoung, Kang Namgil etc, they show their passion for acting. Especially where this drama is so manhwa-like, there will bound to be many overly-exaggerated cases.

Because of that, this kind of drama style is not easy for the vetarans to portray for the first time. However, the veterans managed to portray their characters without any trace of awkwardness. Not forgetting that protagonists Kim Hyunjoong, Jung Somin etc, these young actors display acting skills that illuminate on itself, too.

Of course, the hard work of these young actors Kim Hyunjoong and Jung Somin is very much obvious. Kim HyunJoong has now upgraded his acting from the perfect yet warm guy Yoon Jihoo into the tough yet perfect guy Baek Seungjo. As to how Kim Hyunjoong will digest his character Baek Seungjo slowly falling for Oh Hani, everyone is highly curious about that.

Indeed, Jung Somin who only had one work ‘Bad guy’ managed to digest her Oh Hani character so smoothly as she got chosen for the role. These guys worked really hard for their characters. A related drama personnel mentioned,

“Kim Hyunjoong & Oh Hani never left their hands away from the scripts, and is always rehearsing for them. Especially the feeling to be put forth for the character, they really put in much meticulousness and thoughts as they act it out vividly”.

Though the drama records low ratings as at 3.4%, but this is only the 4th episode. Looking at the rather high ratings this drama rakes in for its re-broadcasts, it is not difficult to spot the possibility whereby audiences will soon move their attention to it.

in the 1st episode they says its to early to tell & now in 4th episode is to early to tell?…hmmm. When i 1st time watching BOF i was so excited to watch more so i search in YT i was fall inluv in that series. Anyway, no matter what hyun joong is still popular all over asia…nothing change about that. Wish you all luck. Hyunsaeng forever!

Compared to BOF, the story development of PK is less exciting, especially the casting. I tried to like Jung So Min (Oh Hani), but act stupid doesn’t make her look cute or lovely – she is not pretty. After the same facial expressions again and again, she lost my interest. Without other supporting casts, someone like F3, to support the drama, it hard to work with only our leader, KHJ. Acting is different from singing. Singing can be solo, but acting cannot. Wish him luck.

I have been watching this drama Playfull Kiss and I dont see any reason why this drama wont earn high rating, the acting of the artist are superb and they are all good and the story is exemplary good too, the acting of Kim hyun Joong and his partner is extremely good. I like this drama and some of the situation here are actual being happened in school. Let’s face it, some adults are just skeptical not to accept the reality. This is being happened in school. DONT be Hipocrite.

I like this drama and Leader is getting better and better. Right now I’m just watching this and the S. Scandal. The other ones I’ve tried and fell out after a few eps.

JHY always deliver a stellar performance no matter what role she portrays. i’m surprise she decided to do this drama since she’s way too young to be playing a mother. but then again, the actress in the taiwan version was also young. nonetheless, it’s hard to watch the same storyline for the 3rd time. it was okay watching the taiwanese version in the beginning, but i got bore of that even though i like both joseph and ariel. i think this drama didn’t lack the necessary promotion. in fact, it got much more promotion than the average korean drama. the problem may lie in the overall weak cast and storyline that’s being repeated for the 3rd time. manwha lovers are the ones watching these type of dramas and with that said, i’m sure they have also watch the taiwan/japan version before. swallowing the same plot the third time is hard. and i also agree that the female character can be VERY annoying. it’s just the way she’s written. i find anyone annoying when they try to be cute in almost every scene. Bread….will end after next week, maybe then the rating will pick up. Bread is a good drama with good acting overall. the young lead really surprise me with his strong acting. anyways, we’ll see how far Hyun Joong’s fans can carry the drama after next week. I haven’t check out Seung Gi’s drama so i can’t attest to how good it is.

i also think the media has been extremely kind to Hyun Joong. I’ve seen them write some nasty stuff when a drama do less than 10…like an 8 or a 9. they would blame the lead actor/actress which i thought was always unfair. this time, they didn’t do that.
